Job Description and Requirements
Located at the gateway to downtown Ketchum, Idaho, just minutes from Bald Mountain’s River Run base, The Observatory Sun Valley, A Viceroy Resort, will debut as Sun Valley’s first luxury hotel and for-sale residence offering. As part of the Viceroy team, associates will help bring elevated, experience-driven hospitality to one of North America’s most iconic mountain destinations.
The Staff Accountant supports the Finance team through payroll processing, accounts receivable, income audit functions, financial reporting, and daily accounting operations. This role is ideal for detail-oriented individuals interested in accounting, finance, hospitality operations, or business administration who are looking to gain hands-on experience within a luxury hotel environment.
This position offers the opportunity to work closely with hotel leadership while supporting the financial operations of a luxury resort opening.
Responsibilities
Assist with daily accounting operations including payroll processing, accounts receivable, billing, collections, and income audit functions.
Support preparation and maintenance of financial reports, journal entries, and accounting records with accuracy and attention to detail.
Monitor guest ledger activity, advance deposits, and related financial records to ensure proper internal controls are maintained.
Assist with customer billing inquiries, invoice preparation, payment tracking, and collection follow-up in a professional and timely manner.
Support payroll administration including timekeeping review, payroll verification, deductions, and payroll-related reporting.
Partner with the Sales and Events team to support billing, deposits, direct billing setup, and credit application processing.
Maintain organized accounting files, records, and supporting documentation in accordance with company standards.
Assist with monthly close processes and reconciliation of invoices, ledgers, and schedules.
Cross-train in multiple areas of the Accounting department including accounts payable and general accounting functions.
Maintain confidentiality of financial, employee, and company information at all times.

Qualifications
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Hospitality, or a related field preferred.
Previous accounting, finance, administrative, customer service, or hospitality experience is a plus.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Professional communication skills and a service-oriented attitude.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word preferred.
Experience with payroll, accounts receivable, or hotel systems is a plus.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information professionally.
Positive attitude, initiative, and willingness to learn in a collaborative team environment.
