Job Description and Requirements
Gem State Staffing is seeking dependable and hardworking Road Maintenance Laborer for a full-time position in Jerome, Idaho. This is a labor-focused job — not a truck driving position, but a valid Class A CDL is required. You’ll perform a range of physical tasks on job sites including construction labor, grounds maintenance, and equipment assistance.
These positions are ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and take pride in keeping roads, parking lots, and properties safe during winter weather conditions. If you enjoy working outdoors, have a CDL, and are dependable with a strong work ethic, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
Perform general construction and labor work on active job sites
Complete grounds maintenance and landscaping tasks
Operate or assist with equipment and tools (e.g., backhoes, hand tools)
Load, unload, and move materials around the site
Follow instructions and maintain safety standards
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Note: You will not be driving regularly, but a valid CDL is required for this position.

Qualifications
-Valid Class A CDL license
-Must be able to perform physical labor outdoors in various weather conditions
-Equipment knowledge or experience a plus
-DOT Medical Card is NOT required
-Reliable and punctual
-Excellent time management skills with the ability to follow directions accurately.
-Strong physical stamina to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours as needed.
-Good communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
-Have a High School diploma or GED.
-Able to bend, stood, kneel and reach with hands and arms when needed.
-Able to lift up-to 100 pounds when needed.
-Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
-Pass a Pre-employment drug screen and background check.
-Be reliable and good attendance.
-Reliable transportation to and from work.
-Able to drive a manual and backhoe.
