Job Description and Requirements
Summary: Works in the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Responsible for accepting and processing donations, assisting customers, and merchandising.
Duties include:
Screen items for donation according to guidelines.
Be polite and make referrals if unable to accept a donation.
See the manager for any questions about the suitability of a donation.
Check condition and working order of items before pricing.
Assist unloading donated items.
Assist customers loading purchased items (Assure they have a receipt).
Assist customers as needed.
Price merchandise according to pricing guidelines.
Research items as needed.
Clean, price, and place items in proper area as soon as possible.
Display merchandise to be easily shopped and aesthetically pleasing.
Check prices on similar displayed items to keep prices consistent.
Be aware of store policies and volunteer guidelines.
Keep all back doors clear of items (This is a safety issue).
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Must be self-motivated,
be able to lift at least 50 pounds,
have a basic understanding of building materials,
have a basic knowledge of online researching/shopping, and
Must wear closed-toe shoes and at least Bermuda short/capris. Pants preferred.
Complete the ReStore policy and Procedure review
Habitat 101-Video course- To be completed within the first week
Safety Training- Lockton Insurance Group- To be completed within the first Month
Manager will cross-train in other ReStore positions
