Job Description and Requirements
Located at the gateway to downtown Ketchum, Idaho, just minutes from Bald Mountain’s River Run base, The Observatory Sun Valley, A Viceroy Resort, will debut as Sun Valley’s first luxury hotel and for-sale residence offering. As part of the Viceroy team, associates will help bring elevated, experience-driven hospitality to one of North America’s most iconic mountain destinations.
The Kitchen Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, organization, and operational support throughout the resort’s culinary and food & beverage operations. This role supports restaurants, banquets, café operations, employee dining, special events, and back-of-house culinary areas while helping ensure exceptional cleanliness and operational standards throughout the resort.

Responsibilities
Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization throughout kitchens, stewarding areas, storage rooms, and food & beverage operational spaces.
Operate dishwashing equipment and ensure china, glassware, silverware, cookware, and utensils are properly cleaned, sanitized, and stored.
Assist with cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment, floors, workstations, walk-in coolers, storage areas, and back-of-house operations.
Support banquet, restaurant, café, employee dining, and special event operations as business needs require.
Assist culinary teams with stocking, organization, basic food preparation, and operational support as needed.
Help maintain proper storage, rotation, and organization of culinary supplies and equipment.
Remove trash, recycling, and waste materials while maintaining sanitation and safety standards.
Follow all Health Department, sanitation, and safety procedures related to cleaning chemicals, food handling, and operational equipment.
Work collaboratively with culinary and food & beverage teams to support efficient daily operations.
Maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications
Previous restaurant, hospitality, kitchen, or customer service experience is a plus but not required.
Interest in hospitality, culinary operations, or food & beverage environments preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to cleanliness and organization.
Ability to stand for extended periods and work in both hot and cold environments.
Ability to lift, carry, push, or move equipment and supplies as needed.
Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to support multiple operational areas.
