Job Description and Requirements

Located at the gateway to downtown Ketchum, Idaho, just minutes from Bald Mountain’s River Run base, The Observatory Sun Valley, A Viceroy Resort, will debut as Sun Valley’s first luxury hotel and for-sale residence offering. As part of the Viceroy team, associates will help bring elevated, experience-driven hospitality to one of North America’s most iconic mountain destinations.

The Human Resources Generalist supports the daily operations of the Human Resources department through recruitment, onboarding, training coordination, employee engagement, and associate support initiatives. This role plays an important part in creating a welcoming, service-focused, and culture-driven employee experience within a luxury hospitality environment.

This position is a great opportunity for college students or early-career professionals interested in Human Resources, hospitality, business operations, or luxury guest service to gain hands-on experience in a hotel opening environment.

Responsibilities

Support recruitment and hiring efforts including applicant communication, interview scheduling, onboarding coordination, and pre-employment processes.

Assist with New Hire Orientation and help create a positive, engaging onboarding experience for associates.

Maintain HR records, tracking logs, personnel files, and onboarding documentation with accuracy and confidentiality.

Provide administrative support for payroll changes, employee status updates, performance review tracking, and compliance documentation.

Assist with employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, associate events, and internal communications.

Serve as a welcoming and professional point of contact for associates, applicants, and visitors to the Human Resources office.

Partner with department leaders to coordinate training schedules, onboarding activities, and opening-related initiatives.

Support compliance-related processes including employment verification, I-9 documentation, workers’ compensation tracking, and OSHA reporting.

Assist with special projects and operational support during the hotel opening process.

Foster a positive, service-oriented work environment aligned with luxury hospitality standards.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business, Hospitality, Communications, or a related field preferred.

Previous hospitality, customer service, administrative, or Human Resources experience is a plus.

Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.

Professional, approachable, and service-oriented attitude.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills preferred.

Bilingual skills are a plus.
