Job Description and Requirements

Snake River Cichlids is seeking a reliable Hatchery Assistant for our commercial freshwater breeding facility in Buhl, Idaho. We utilize local geothermal water systems to produce and distribute premium African Cichlids nationwide.

Primary duties include:
  • Daily feeding and care of live tropical fish stock.
  • Assisting with specialized packing and preparing live fish orders for nationwide shipping.
  • Monitoring tank conditions and basic facility maintenance.
  • Learning and executing hatchery biosecurity and cleaning protocols.

Qualifications

Reliable transportation to our physical breeding facility in Buhl, Idaho.
Dependable, punctual, and able to consistently commit to the Monday–Thursday (7:00 AM) schedule.
Able to perform physical hands-on tasks in a wet, warm hatchery environment (lifting buckets, bending, standing).
Willingness to learn specialized aquaculture protocols and follow strict instructions.
No prior fish or aquaculture experience required—we provide complete, ongoing training for the right candidate.
