Job Description and Requirements
The Seasonal Field Technician will assist in field operations focused on the monitoring, control, and surveillance of mosquitoes and black flies, as well as the tracking of vector-borne diseases. This position requires outdoor fieldwork in a variety of weather and terrain conditions and a high level of independence and responsibility. Individuals must be at least 18 years of age, possess a valid driver's license, and have a good driving record. Employees will work around water, canals, streams, and swampy areas, sometimes wading or boating in areas where getting wet or falling in is possible; as such, employees must know how to swim.

- Conduct field surveillance for mosquito and black fly populations
- Assist with monitoring and sampling related to vector-borne disease activity
- Apply pesticides in accordance with federal, state, and district regulations
- Read, understand, and strictly follow pesticide labels and safety guidelines
- Operate and maintain pesticide equipment and field vehicles
- Record accurate field data and maintain treatment logs
- Assist with trap setup, collection, and identification of specimens
- Follow all safety protocols and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving record
- Must know how to swim. (Employees will work around water, canals, streams, and swampy areas, sometimes wading or boating in areas where getting wet or falling in is possible).
- Individuals with a background in agriculture, public health, or biology are preferred.
- All other job-related training will be provided.
