Job Description and Requirements
Located at the gateway to downtown Ketchum, Idaho, just minutes from Bald Mountain’s River Run base, The Observatory Sun Valley, A Viceroy Resort, will debut as Sun Valley’s first luxury hotel and for-sale residence offering. As part of the Viceroy team, associates will help bring elevated, experience-driven hospitality to one of North America’s most iconic mountain destinations.
The Assistant Front Office Manager supports the daily operations of the Front Office department while helping deliver exceptional guest experiences throughout every stage of the guest journey. This role assists with guest services, team leadership, training, VIP experiences, and daily operational execution in a luxury hospitality environment.
This position is ideal for students or early-career professionals pursuing hospitality, business, tourism, or leadership-focused careers who are looking to gain hands-on experience in hotel operations and guest experience management.
Responsibilities
Support the daily operation of the Front Office department while delivering attentive, friendly, and service-oriented guest experiences.
Assist with guest check-in and check-out processes, VIP arrivals, special requests, reservations, and guest communications.
Work closely with Sales, Reservations, Housekeeping, and Food & Beverage teams to coordinate guest experiences and operational needs.
Help lead guest service initiatives and assist with Front Desk training and onboarding for new associates.
Respond to guest concerns, service requests, and online feedback in a professional and timely manner.
Maintain guest profiles, reservation details, amenity coordination, and communication logs with accuracy and attention to detail.
Promote hotel services, amenities, dining outlets, and local experiences to enhance the guest stay.
Assist with supervising shifts, supporting daily operations, and ensuring service standards are consistently maintained.
Maintain a professional, welcoming, and positive presence in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment.
Support operational and opening-related initiatives as assigned by hotel leadership.

Qualifications
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Hospitality, Business, Tourism, Communications, or a related field preferred.
Previous hospitality, guest service, customer service, or leadership experience is a plus.
Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
Professional, service-oriented, and guest-focused attitude.
Ability to remain calm and solution-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable working flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight shifts.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel systems experience is a plus.
Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments and leadership teams.
Positive attitude, initiative, and willingness to learn and grow within luxury hospitality operations.
