POSITION SUMMARY: Cooper Norman is offering an internship opportunity for a student working towards a bachelor’s degree that demonstrates genuine interest in accounting and tax services and possesses excellent project management skill, attention to detail, and the ability to think critically. Ideal intern candidates must commit to 55 hours of service weekly throughout the internship.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepare business and individual income tax returns and assist with other tax related projects.
• Assist with tax planning for various types of clients.
• Develop a working knowledge of tax preparation software and other software necessary to
prepare tax returns, tax projections, and other tax related projects.
• Support the Audit and Assurance Service Line by assisting in various projects as assigned.
• Meet deadlines for completion of tax returns and other projects as assigned.
• Illustrate Firm’s core values: Grit, Resourceful, Empathetic, Accountability and Trust.
• Perform duties as assigned by mentor with minimal supervision for the betterment of the Firm.
Qualifications
• Significant progress towards bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Ability to read and understand financial statements and tax returns.
• Possess a sense of urgency with respect to task completion and client service.
• Keen attention to detail and willingness to learn in a high-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills needed for effective interaction with team members and clients.
• Ability to produce high-quality and accurate work product.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Commitment to a minimum of 650 hours over the 14-week internship.
