CSI Work-Based Learning Center
Social Impact Analyst
Job Description and Requirements
Job Description
UI has been hired by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to evaluate several
programs that the church has funded. UI will be conducting evaluations on several nonprofits
to understand how each program has helped beneficiaries and how the church can better
support this work. While most of the measurement and evaluation will be done virtually, we
would like a local university student to visit the site in person and gain experience interacting
with a local social impact organization (nonprofit organization).
The student will work for about 30 to 32 hours over the span of 3 to 4 weeks. As a paid impact
analyst contracted with UI, the student will visit the site of a nonprofit in person and meet with staff and
program beneficiaries. This in-person visit is essential in understanding the nonprofit’s work
and impact.
Training: UI’s Measurement and Evaluation Team will hold a few video calls to train the
student and help them understand the project.
● Site Visit: The student will visit the organization that is being evaluated in person.
● Interviews: The student will interview a few beneficiaries of the program using a list of
questions provided by UI. Through these interviews, the students will learn more about
how the project helped the beneficiaries.
● Write-Up: After the site visit and interviews, the student will create a short write-up
describing what they learned.
Qualifications
The student applying should:
Interest in the social sciences or social impact sector.
