Learn research skills while helping with potato research projects in Kimberly, Idaho!

Part-time agricultural research assistant position available at the University of Idaho Kimberly R and E Center focused on applied potato production and storage research.

We are looking for a person motivated and willing to assist with collecting data in the field, storage building, and laboratory. 

Qualifications

Experience using communication skills in a workplace or school and having effective communication with supervisors, co-workers, colleagues, and third parties.

Experience following good safety practices; and using basic personal computer software programs, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Employment contingent upon satisfactory results of a criminal background check and/or driving record investigation.

Willingness to work on research projects that may be aimed at potato storage and production agriculture.

Knowledge of scientific principles and conducting laboratory experiments; keeping accurate records.

Demonstrated ability to work in a cooperative manner and be an integral team member; operate, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and resolve basic problems with instruments and farm equipment; follow good safety practices.

Possess a valid driver’s license and ability to drive a UI vehicle (pass driving record check and defensive driving course).
