Job Description

Gem State Staffing is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Packaging Operator for a full-time position in Jerome. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the packaging process, ensuring that products are assembled, packaged, and prepared for distribution in compliance with industry standards. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, and adherence to FDA regulations.

Duties:

-Operate packaging machinery and equipment efficiently while adhering to CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) standards.
-Assemble and package products according to specified guidelines and quality standards.
-Utilize hand tools and machinery for fabrication of packaging materials as needed.
-Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
-Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
-Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
-Maintain accurate records of production activities and inventory levels.
-Assist in training new employees on packaging processes and equipment usage.
-Transfer finished product from the palletizing room to the Warehouse.
-Scan packaged products into the inventory management system.
-Inspect all product packaging for defects. 

Qualifications

Requirements:

-Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb.
-Adhere to company attendance standards.
-Comply with company safety policies and regulations.
-Qualified applicant should have no felonies in the last 10 years.
-Available to work overtime, weekends & potentially holidays as needed.
-Previous food processing/production or manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
-Must be able to pass drug screen and background check.
-Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., unassisted.
-Must be able to be on your feet an entire 12-hour work shift.
-Forklift and Packaging experience is preferred.
