Job Description

A Mountain Lift Electrician will learn to install, maintain and repair electrical and electronic equipment and components of industrial machinery and systems by performing installation, maintenance and repair as described below under the supervision of Journeymen electricians and other experienced technicians.

 Duties and Responsibilities:   

Install power and control wiring and conduit for newly installed machinery and equipment. 
Connect power and control wiring to machines and equipment. Connect cables and wires between machines and equipment. 
Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors and lighting fixtures. Replace damaged or broken wiring and cables. Diagnose, repair, or replace faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards. 
Test malfunctioning machinery and discuss malfunction with coworkers, such as lift operators, lift mechanics or snowmakers, to diagnose malfunctions. 
Replaces faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.
Plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings. 
Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment. 
Climb towers and work under adverse weather conditions to complete tasks, especially when electrical equipment is out of service due to failure. 
Participate in proper safety classes, including Fall Arrest, Lock-out tag-out procedures and other related safety topics. 
Perform preventative electrical maintenance, lift line work, snowmaking maintenance, troubleshooting and proper record keeping. 

Qualifications

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors. 
Continue, complete, and pass the apprenticeship program within a reasonable time. 
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. 
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. 
Idaho State Electrical Apprentice License with two years of experience. 
A current driver's license is required. 
Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. 
The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
