Job Description

Gem State Staffing is accepting applications for an experience Maintenance Mechanic for a night shift, full-time position in Richfield. Complete all necessary maintenance and repairs on devices within the plant to lessen any disruptions in output levels. Start immediately!

Job Duties:
-Repair and maintain production equipment and facilities during assigned production shift in order to meet budget levels in quality and quantity
-Promote strong safety practices
-Maintain assigned paper work
-Complete assigned tasks and special projects
-Promotes and exhibits strong Food Safety and Quality practices
-Promotes and exhibits strong Sustainability practices
-Promotes and exhibits strong Housekeeping practices
-Must report Safety, Food Safety, and Quality, Sustainability and Housekeeping problems to direct supervisor immediately
-Actively participate in teams and on projects to improve the metrics for given area of responsibility
-Assist Autonomous Maintenance process in plant
-Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct.
-Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug -Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)

Qualifications

-Skilled in mechanical repairs, sanitary welding, electrical/electronics, and plumbing as related to a manufacturing environment
-PLC experience desirable
-Ability to troubleshoot and take corrective action
-Self-motivated and the ability to work with minimal supervision
-Must furnish own hand tools
-Good decision making ability in pressure situations
-Ability to work assigned shift
-Must be a team player and adhere to all safety rules
-Knowledge of USDA, FDA, SQF and customer requirements for a food manufacturing plant
-Knowledge of Sustainability and EPA requirements for a manufacturing plant
-Ability to operate (or learn to operate) necessary equipment
-Excellent record required in safety, attendance, and punctuality
-Ability to stand and walk the entire shift if needed
-Ability to read and write instructions in English
-Knowledge of the proper use of all cleaning chemicals
-Must be able to work weekends, and overtime as required.

Job Requirements:
-Ability to stand on feet for 12 hours a day.
-Be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb.
-Ability to lift a minimum of 60 lbs. frequently, unassisted.
-Adhere to company attendance standards.
-Comply with company safety policies and regulations
-Qualified applicant should have no felonies in the last 7 years.
-Available to work overtime, weekends, and potentially holidays as needed.
-Must pass pre-employment drug test and physical fit test.
-Previous food processing/production or manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
