Job Description:

Gem State Staffing is seeking workers for a full-time, seasonal position in Kimberly that will last throughout the end of summer. People to assist with seed processing in the seed mills. The work is indoors, will be working with/on equipment, and lifting requirement is up to 25 lbs.., lifting bags/buckets of seed and dumping into seed machines. Some of the machines require the ability to go up and down two steps to dump seed. Need to be accurate and detail-oriented as they will be entering data into our computer inventory via Excel. Forklift and/or scissor lift experience is a plus, but not required. Work should last through Fall 2025.

Other Duties will include:

Seed Processing/Seed Mill - Assignment thru December
Marker Sampling- Assignment ongoing, may lead to other greenhouse tasks
Filling Pots/Moving Trays/Working with Bugs - Assignment through November

Field work:
-Weeding using a hoe and by hand
-Draping CTF (Curly Top Field)
-Counting plants
-Removing doubles
-Leaf hopper spreading
-Leaf hopper harvest in the cooler
-Cleaning greenhouses
-Washing pots
-Picking up trash
-Working with other groups as needed
-RHC harvest work
-Working outside, sing a hoe for weeding, and pulling weeds by hand if needed.
-Lift sugar beet leaves out of the dirt.
-Weed plots and taught to read plants to determine if they are fertile or not, then separating them.
-Other general maintenance duties, such as cleanups. 

Qualifications:

-Must have good attention to detail.
-Ability to pass pre-employment drug and background screenings.
-Ability to work well with others.
-Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
-Must work outside all day, walking on uneven ground, bending and kneeling.
-Must be able to stand for long periods.
-Must be able to work for extended hours or work days (8-10 hr. shifts).
-Must be mindful of all safety practices.
-Able to work in all types of weather.
-Will need to be able to stand for long periods
-Communicate with co-workers and follow directions.
