Job Description
• Assists Agricultural Assistant with loading and delivering irrigation pipe (hand lines, wheel lines, and gated pipe) to designated fields at the beginning of the growing season and as needed throughout the season.
• At the end of the growing season, remove irrigation pipe from the fields and properly storing them in designated areas.
• Assists with landscaping lawns and flower beds by weeding, trimming, spraying, and hand watering.
• Assists with weed control around buildings.
• Assists the irrigator with irrigation.
• Assists with tractor work if qualified.
• Assists with various other general farm and building maintenance, as necessary.
Qualifications
Possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive University of Idaho vehicles (pass driving record check and defensive driving course).
Ability to lift and carry 50lbs, walk on uneven ground, work in all weather conditions, spray farm chemicals, do manual type labor jobs.
Ability to assist the irrigator.
Demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively and be an integral team member.
Tractor driving and irrigation experience is preferred but not required.
