Job Description
How You Will Contribute:
The Construction Intern works with Assistant Project Managers and Project Managers in assigned region to build proficiencies in the life cycle of residential production homebuilding.
Responsibilities Include:
Schedule Management – Assists in scheduling inspections from the city for everything from foundation to building final. Schedules trade partners to make corrections noted on those inspections.
Material Management – Assists in purchase orders, variance purchase orders, and returns.
Quality Assurance Inspections – Assists with final quality assurance inspections by executing tasks and scheduling trade partners to assure the completion of a quality product. Also assists with job site cleanup.
Qualifications
What You Can Offer:
Education/Experience:
College studies in construction management, civil engineering or related field preferred, but not required.
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college in the United States.
Previous construction experience a plus.
Abilities:
Willingness to work in all types of weather.
Ability to work well with co-workers and trade partners in unsupervised situations.
Solid organizational abilities and customer service skills.
Good interpersonal skills and an ability to establish positive relationships with all levels of the organization as well as build relationships with outside resources.
Benefits
As a temporary, part-time team member, interns are not eligible for medical or retirement benefits. Our interns are, however, eligible to participate in our Employee Assistance Program and accrue PTO at a rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.
