Job Description

Gem State Staffing is immediately looking for experienced residential framer for full-time position. Framing Carpenters work in many different settings, but most of them involve some kind of new construction or renovation work. They are generally involved in sourcing construction material, traveling to sites where work is being done and giving accurate cost and time estimates for clients.

Responsibilities:

-Rough framing and building wooden structures, including walls, roofs and flooring
-Doing joinery work that includes installing joists and studs, installing flashing and securing structural supports.
-Performing finish work, such as new moldings and interior fixtures
-Designing custom furniture, cabinets, cupboards and interior walls
-Estimating material and time costs for projects, including costs for labor, wood materials and fasteners
-Choosing the appropriate wood materials for interior and outdoor projects, choosing high-quality materials and matching clients’ budgets
-Working with general contractors, clients and suppliers to complete projects within time and resource constraints
-Interpreting blueprints and technical drawings and building in compliance with local code standards
-Must have own tools such as hammer, square reader, tape measure & tool belt, pencil.
-Construct and install frameworks for buildings, including walls, roofs, and floors
-Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine project specifications
-Measure, cut, and shape materials such as wood, concrete, or plaster
-Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure project timelines are met
-Perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as required throughout the workday
-Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
-Assist in restoring or renovating existing structures as needed

Qualifications

Skills/Requirements:

-Proficient in carpentry techniques and installation processes
-Strong ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately
-Experience with heavy lifting and physical labor in a construction environment
-Knowledge of construction management principles is a plus
-Familiarity with roofing techniques and materials
-Experience in concrete finishing and plastering is advantageous
-Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
-Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor conditions
-Able to consistently bend, stoop, and twist
-Familiarity with hand tools
-Ability to lift 50+ pounds throughout a shift
-Must have high school diploma or GED
-Ability to take direction from supervisory staff
-Follow written and verbal instructions
-Ability to work with minimal supervision-must be a hard-working self-starter
-Must pass pre-employment drug screen
-Reliable transportation to and from work
-Comply with all company safety and attendance standards
-Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and potentially holidays
