Compensation: Individual placements will earn $7,680 or up to $8,960 living allowance, dispersed on a monthly basis throughout the 12 or 14 Weeks.

Job Schedule: The individual placement will average 40 hours of labor per week, minus holidays. The normal work schedule will be four 10-hour days.

This position will aid the Sawtooth Timber and Silviculture Program in conducting reforestation projects including post fire surveys, cone collection, and seedling planting. This position will also work in timber sale prep with duties including harvest unit layout, designation of timber for harvest, and cruising of merchantable timber.

Applicants must be 18-30 years old (35 for Veterans), a U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident, and the ability to pass a background/driver check. Candidate must be willing to work as part of a small team, have good written and verbal communication skills, a current driver's license, and a high school diploma or GED. Other required qualifications include the ability to lift and carry 50lbs, the ability and interest to work outdoors in remote settings and inclement weather on uneven ground, the ability to walk on uneven terrain for up to 8 hours per day in all weather conditions, and the ability to hike 5-10 miles in a day in rugged country.

This position includes reimbursement for relevant travel and/or training expenses.
