Job Description and Requirements

-The Corporate Bookkeeper is responsible for all financial work and information for the Best Western Plus Burley Inn, Budget Motel and Spud Cellar Lounge including:

· Preparing monthly financial reports which include balance sheets, income statements and other statistical reports for all companies and departments within the companies.

· Prepare annual budgets for companies and departments with department managers and General Manager to prepare an accurate budget for upcoming year.

· Reconcile monthly bank statements.

· Perform basic daily office tasks, such as data entry, issuing accounts payable checks, daily banking, filing, etc.

· Responsible for gathering Accounts Payable information from all departments.

· Analyzing financial information to identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely fashion.

· Complete employee files, payroll reports and approving and submitting payroll, for bi-weekly pay dates. (our company uses an outside payroll processing service)

-The Bookkeeper will be knowledgeable of accounting principles and proficient with computers and software, such as MS Excel and Sage Accounting Software or QuickBooks. The Bookkeeper reports to the General Manager and works closely with ownership of the company.

· Problem solving is a large responsibility of the Bookkeeper.

· Confidence when explaining decisions and financial information to ownership, accountant and co-workers.

· Must be a self-starter and have a strong work ethic.

· Successfully interact with co-workers.

· Must be a detail-oriented person with strong communication skills.

· Proper phone and email etiquette along with strong communication.

Qualifications

·Have basic knowledge of accounting principles. (journal entries, balance sheets and income statements)

7 years of experience is preferred.
